Rejected proposal showing on credit rating

In Alberta, Anonymous Q & A, Calgary, Consumer Proposals by Questions1 Comment

My proposal was rejected by one of the creditors and my proposal was unsuccessful. Transunion shows the registered proposal but also stated that it was unsuccessful. Unfortunately lenders see this on the bureau as a bankruptcy. How can I have this removed since it was unsuccessful in the end and no actual proposal happened?

Credit reporting agencies such as Trans Union report facts. The proposal was rejected and the credit reporting agency is showing it as such. Lenders should read the reports for what they are. Should you have issues with the reporting you should take it up directly with the credit reporting agency. Please keep in mind that you did in fact file a proposal and that the proposal was not successful.
